MY VAMPIRE EYES

Most of my friends out there remember my very red eyes and how long it took for my eyes, especially my left one to heal after the cataract surgery.  Well, guess what, they are still red.  My doctor here in Phoenix said that redness was due to severe allergies.  Who knew?  So I am taking eye drops in both eyes and one especially combined antibiotic-steroid mix  for my left eye only.  We had to get them ready for laser treatment.  Doc said laser treatment is not a big deal and I will be sitting in the chair like when they check your eyes with my chin on the rest and my forehead against the top.  That simple.  No anesthesia.  So now I am waiting for the connection to make my appointment for that.  My right eye goes first, that is my better eye.  Now about these eye drops I am taking, I am already taking less of the antibiotic mix, and that will dwindle to nothing eventually by taking less and less of it.  The other drops are for my allergies and he said I will probably be taking those for the rest of my life.  One drop in each eye once a day.  He also added an over the counter eye drop.   This one is a saline solution combined with some oil to take as needed during the day when my eyes start bothering me.  And one more thing which he said was probably more or just as important as the eye drops is putting a warm compress on my eyes for five minutes several times during the day.  I had been using a cold compress because my eyes had been burning and feeling feverish.  He said the warm compress would be better and it helps with the healing process.  I know after I use that warm compress  my eyes  feel so much better.  I just take a small hand towel and wet it with hot water then squeeze out the water by that time it is usually cool enough to put on my closed eyes.   It feels great.

Wii BOWLING TOURNAMENT

Here it came and there it went.  February 13th  was the Wise Owl Senior Center Wii Bowling Tournament.   So this took place in Avondale which is a small town within the City Limits of Phoenix, Arizona.   Our team loaded a small bus or van and headed south at 7:15 A.M.  Very early for me, but believe it or not I got up early and was the first one to be at our departure spot which was the Wise Owl.   After about an hour and a half, we arrived at the huge sports complex where the tournament was to take place.  Of course, most of the ladies headed to the bathroom first thing upon arrival.  That was a long trip but we weren't to the point where anyone was asking "Are we there yet".  Avondale had several teams going; we just had a team of four players going on.  So we were split into teams and we had two of our people playing with two of another team.  Now I have to brag a little at this point.  I had only one practice session prior to the tournament date.  First play I got a strike and thereafter got several more which was really great for me.  Why was this great for me?  I have been reality bowling twice in my entire age.  First time I scored 29.  The second time was when I took my grandson bowling for his birthday when he was in high school.  I don't remember my score but I'm sure it was not much higher than 29.. But after that game and using the lightest ball they had, my wrist and forearm became swollen and I swore off bowling until now when I tried this Wii bowling game.  It doesn't have that affect, doesn't hurt my wrist at all.  I recommend it for Seniors.  Back to the tournament. The other two from our team did great and they were winners.  After all the competition was completed, we had a wonderful meal served.  We had salad, five or so  different kinds of pizzas, and cookies of several different kinds, and raspberry tea, lemonade, and water.  It was wonderful and fresh.  I think they baked the cookies there on location.  After that there was the long ride back to Wickenburg.  I hadn't mentioned there were drawings and prizes was Valentine's Candy.
