FLORIDA ORANGES

Late in the afternoon on Friday, I went to the Orange farm where I always get my oranges at a very good price.  $5.00 a very large bag. They are possessed with a little blight which makes them unattractive to be sold in the store.  But they don't use the pesticides etc. that make the oranges look nice.  They pick them and fill a wagon which is parked in a drive along one of the county roads.  One pays by the honor system.  There is a slot in a metal box to put your money in.  I can remember when I lived in Florida before, the oranges were $1.00 a bag then they raised in price to $2.00.  These are the sweetest oranges I have had and they are navels which means no seeds.  This large bag they provide is close to a half bushel.  I have a large refrigerator drawer full of them and I gave a small bag to my friend as she is always doing something nice for me, and gave a small bag to the neighbor who hooked up my gas tank and carried the full tank from one side to the other side of my RV.   I wanted to send all my kids some of the oranges but for the price I would have to pay to ship them, you could buy them in the store.  That may have been feasible when they were $1.00 a bag.
